Hello (and help)
Hello to everyone, im Jay and im new. i personally drive and own VW's with a mk2 Scirocco GT and mk2 Jetta CL, however, my dad and i decided to get a discovery simply cos they are legendary and we need something to tow our caravan!
the one we have got is a Green 1990(G) Discovery 1 with a 2.5 turbo diesel lump. got it for a bargain price off my dads mate in germany (its a right hooker by the way-dunno what it was doing in germany!). we tookit for a pre MOT check today, and they have come accross a few things. the first is the front light is broke, we knew that im not too worried bout that, butthe more concerning issue is lots of rust around the rear mounting points.
i herd on a grapevine that this may be a common problem with the discovery 1, and was wondering if there is any easy (yet safe and sufficient) way of fixing this such as replacement panels? any feedback and advice is more than welcome and greatly appreciated, because if we cant get it sorted soonish or cheepishi fear the disco is goin to be heading to the breakers yard which is a crying shame cos it is in really good condition other than the rust!
cheers to all,
Jay
