Welcome to town. IT is always a good idea to know what you are looking at. I have a 96 disco. 130k 4 kids and a wife. few problems. The big things are keeping the maintanence up to date. know as much about the vehicle as you can. when you buy try and get all the records on it. The common problems that happen with a well maintained disco can be fixed at home with a little time and a few tools and places like this. Good people here that will help. They have me and i am just keeping it going.

If you're looking for a later model Disco check out the 04s. You can pick them up at a very reasonable price and you may even still be able to pick one up as new (low mileage demo). I just did this about a month ago.

The 04s have a few things the 03 doesn't have, mainly the ability to lock the center differential.
