Default Hello from Minneapolis, MN

Howdy, friends! I am a recent transplant from CA to MN and continue to struggle with this frigid weather!

I am happy to be a part of this forum, and am looking forward to some good conversation.

I do have a couple questions right out of the gate as I prepare to buy my first Land Rover:

- what are the main differences between the Range Rover and Range Rover sport, say during the 2008-2010 production years?

- why would someone choose an LR3 over a range rover, or vice versa?

- does the supercharged Range (08-10) really require a lot more maintenance than the regular HSE?

As you can see, I am a bit indecisive and can't decide what I want!

Thank you in advance for all your help!

Kyle

you can actual do a Google search for what the differences are.
2010 i believe the rrs was on the LR3/4 chassis and the range rover was on a full size chassis. but i believe that changed a couple years back

Kyle,
I just joined as well. Welcome to the hunt! We just bought a 2012 Range Rover Sport about 8 months ago and love it.

The major difference between the Range Rover and the Range Rover Sport is size and the thickness of your wallet. I do not know all the details, nor pretend to, however the Range Rover is the fullsize version while the little brother is the sport. I would assume the same options would be available in both, perhaps a little more glitz & glamour on the full size. Depending on your needs its a Yukon versus and Explorer...

The maintenance should be the same versus a supercharged engine. The only thing to consider is the maintenance itself on the supercharger, I would imagine over time they would need to be rebuilt and bearing replaced. More bells and whistles...

LR3 has a different body style and footprint. A little longer and narrower and less expensive than the main models. It just depends on what grabs you eye.

Good luck with the hunt!
