Hi I am a new owner of a 97 D1 SE. Got it for a great price and so far seems to be working just fine. I have the expected issues with the window regulators and motors but happy so far. I hope to do a little mild off roading some time to see what I can do. I know the D1 can do much more than I am capable of. Anybody from my area who does some off roading send me a message.

I live over on Bainbridge Island, and I drive a 97 SD.

I recently had to have my driver door window regulator and motor replaced, and my advice is if/when yours breaks, shop around for a good quote, buy the parts yourself if the shop marks them up (like mine did), or do the job yourself if you are handy. It can be a PRICEY repair.

 

I am handy....I already had to permanently make my passenger rear window stay up with a well placed bolt since it was falling down. Once I buy the parts I can fix it....

My DII is very easy to spot, yellow is hard to miss, plus I'm the only Rover owner that waves to other Rover owners, unfortunately I only get funny looks back

I'd be down to hit some forest service roads/trails out east with you sometime. Out I-90 there are quite a few spots around Exit 39-ish.
