Hello from Virginia-Let's Ride
All;
I joined the forum because I have an interest in all things off road. I owned (and thoroughly enjoyed) a 2002 Range Rover HSK. Unfortunately the wife totaled that one in 07. I've also had a number of TLC's and for about the last 3 years have been behind the wheel of a MB G Wagen. I drive an 81 300 GD Cabrio. Wife now has an 05 G55K. I'd like to link up with those in the DC area interested in hitting the trails west of town (or wherever). I know my way around the open trails in the Shenandoah Valley pretty well, always interested in finding new stuff. I try to do the big dogs event at the Cove in Gore, VA at least twice a year. Anyway, greetings to all. Here's the obligatory stats/mods/pic
1981 MB 300GD SWB cabrio
5 Cyl OM617 Turbo Diesel with propane injection
+40mm ORC Springs
+40mm body lift
Bilstein Shocks
Hutchinson Beadlocks
34 x 10.5 x 16 SS LTB's
Superwinch OX (ancient but awesome)

The GW National Forest has some decent stuff. There are a few "pay to play" places around as well. I also have access to a large lease in western, WV. 1200 acres of old logging trails etc. It's in the middle of nowhere. Ever seen the movie Wrong Turn LOL?

In the GWNF, you'll need some aggressive AT tires. If you're real particular about the truck, might consider a set of steel wheel or cheap alloys (if there is such a thing) that you can beat up off road. It gets pretty rocky in spots.
