Help me avoid a huge mistake?!?!
Thank you to all who host and contribute to this forum. I've used a similar format for another vehicle, and it was helpful. I have never owned a Land Rover, but have my heart set on a LR4. I was hoping some experienced owners would have some guidance for me.
I'm currently considering this particular vehicle: 2015 Land Rover LR4 HSE - $22,288 - https://www.cargurus.com/Cars/link/333476151. Any thoughts on this listing? It's been online for quite a while, and the price was originally $33k. I suspect something is seriously wrong with the engine. The sales rep sent me a list of recommended service from the dealer's own service department that totaled only $1,100 - not that they would necessarily give me the whole story.
What I'd really rather have is a 2003-2004 Discovery with a swapped engine and transmission. I've loved that body style since I first saw one. Unfortunately, I lack the skill to do any of that work myself, and I'd feel over my head going to a custom shop to talk about a swap.
