I am looking to buy my dream car. A 2002 Land Rover Discovery II SE. Recently found one on Craigslist of course and just wanted some tips before I go spending any money.

I will be test driving the vehicle tomorrow and just wanted some overall information on what to look for. Thanks for the help.

 

Rust, frame rust, floor rust, frame rust, general rust, more rust. Get underneath it and check carefully especially the rear frame. Let it run take it for a good drive, get back look for rust while it idles. Keep an eye on the engine temps, look for leaks etc...

A pre-purchase inspection by a Rover dealer or specialist is worth it as well. Have them check for rust...


Oh and check again for rust.
