Default Hen's teeth

Morning all!

Just got back into a Land Rover- This one is a 95 Discovery/ 5 speed manual/ 300Tdi. The previous owner was the perfect guy to buy from (the maintenance log is a well thumbed and oil stained Moleskin.) Bought it and drove 5.5 hours home EGT's were perfect, no hiccups at all. 20mpg as well...

It's good to be back.

Me? 25 year recent Coast Guard retiree. I live down south of Savannah, Ga (Brunswick) for the time being wrapping up loose ends before we head home to the mountains of East TN (Erwin). If you are nearby or passing through- give me a shout!

Buck

Hey and welcome! Couldnt buy a better disco! I had a 96 2 door 300tdi best ever! You might not know this but the base of your truck is a range rover mach 1! Take the top skin off and they are identical! Just north of Sulihul is a place that restores RR. they even did the queens personal mach 1 rangie frame off bolt by bolt. I brought my disco to them for a quote and that is where I found out the connection. Word of caution, watch your body mounts, that's what took mine from me. That engine without all the U.S emissions crap on it will do 420 miles to a tank at 75 mph! trust me I did it many times! Enjoy it!

Thanks so much!
I remember reading that the original Disco was essentially a LR parts bin design, leaning heavily on the RR. Didn't know it was essentially that car though. Neat! Body mounts- will do.
The engine: I absolutely love it so far. Sounds like a school bus but pulls beautifully at 20MPG's.

Thanks again,
Buck
