Smile Hi! I do my homework

Longtime forum user and car enthusiast here so I know how to use the Search lol. Not in the market for a Land Rover at this EXACT moment, but I will own one someday so it's a good time to start educating myself and do some research... I'm not the type to jump on a forum after an auto purchase to really see what I've bought. A purchase won't be made until I know EXACTLY what I want!

I'm a longtime European car enthusiast. Daily drive a VW GTI and looking at Audi B6 S4's (V8 engine, 6-speed, 2003-2005). Avid appreciator of good ol' stick shifts. No one wrenches on my cars except me, I tinker with everything I own.

I'd love to build a Land Rover for camping, offroad excursions, road trips, etc. I'm attracted to the Land Rover heritage, their genuine offroading capabilities, and the relative exclusivity compared to Jeeps, Toyota FJ, and others. The Discovery models have always had my attention, but need to learn if they're all I imagine them to be or if there's a better model to have. Thanks for any input guys!
