Smile Hi! I'm new, Need advice on the Discovery 4 (LR4)

Hello everyone, I'm Gabe

I'm 23, from Illinois. I am studying Info Tech in College. I enjoy gaming on PC and Console. I love Home theater, and Collecting Blu-rays & CD's. I also learned recently, that I'm really really interested in Overlanding and possibly Off-roading! I've been looking at the GX470 and LR3 or 4, but I really like the design of the discovery more

I want the Discovery 4, but I am afraid of it completely breaking down on me, and not being able to afford repair costs. I've probably watched every video regarding the Discovery 3&4 but I have gotten mixed perspectives of the vehicles. Some say they are a fix or repair daily, and some say they have never had a problem. I am a handy person when I have youtube on my side lol. the most I have replaced on my own are brakes, rotors, and lights lol. I am also willing to pay an experienced Land Rover repair shop when things are beyond my comfort zone. I want to know on average, how much does it cost per year to service a Disco 4? which year is the most reliable? and what are somethings I should absolutely be cautious of?

I would go for the Discovery 3 (LR3) the drivetrain is much more robust. Generally speaking the maintenance is more than your run of the mill honda but is not so terrible that it will give you a heart attack. Both of my LR3's have been pretty damn reliable over the last 4 years. Stay on top of problems and solve them as they come up, instead of waiting.
