Hi everyone, just bought a 99 D2 as a fun/adventure rig. It arrived on the back of a flatbed trailer but 2 hours under the truck and a new crankshaft position sensor later she’s up and running! Most things look OK, the amigos give me the occasional visit and just lots of little stuff that I’ve put on a priority list and I’m crossing off 1 by 1. I’ve already visited the salvage yard for a D1 wiper blade retrofit and some cup holders, not a bad way to spend 20 bucks. Oh, and it’s bright red, I’ve never seen another one like it!

What I wouldn’t do to still live in Washington now that I have a Disco. So many beautiful places to go camping with it out there.
i hope yours gets to know the roads and camp sites around the Gifford Pinchot National Forest. That’s where mine would spend most it’s life if work hadn’t moved me to the opposite end if the country.

Yeah, I’m pretty excited about getting mine set up for a weekend camper. Much like yours it’s not my daily driver and I’m still getting some of foibles worked out. On my plate right now I’m replacing the broken radio (can’t travel without music) and setting up a dual battery which I hope to document and post soon, I hope to get the tray built tomorrow.

Dual battery is on my list as well. Can’t wait to see how you do yours.
i changed my stereo this week. The stock head unit didn’t wanna come out despite using the keys made to pull it. I tried to assist it with a panel puller and accidentally shattered the dash bezel. Had to buy one to finish the job. Ended up costing a lot more than planned...
I got a head unit and wiring kit from Crutchfield, even paid to have the harness pre-Wired, including the adapter to retain the stock steering wheel stereo controls. Only $200 total, minus the dash bezel. So worth it. Now I have Bluetooth audio and hands free calling. Welcomed my Rover to 2019.
