Hi Land Rover Forum....
Hi, I'm Chad from Spokane. Look forward to educating myself here with all of the veteran LR people.
- I first became interested in the Discovery while in Seattle, we were attending the annual motorcycle show at the Trade and Convention center. I knew of the old Land Rovers like they had on Wild Kingdom, and the Defender series, but the Discovery was news to me.
- Have logged many many off-road miles in a Jeep, some here in the Pacific Northwest but mostly in southern California. Used to own a stock 78 CJ7, then a 90 YJ with extensive modifications. Now, I'm Jeepless but take my current 4wd (Nissan Pathfinder) offroad whenever I can.
- Had an opportunity to drive the Discovery about 5 years ago, loved it. Salesman took me over the demonstration track, a series of up/down, off camber, logs, etc. I disappointed the salesman because he expected me to wince at the sidehilling and such. I am quite certain I had 'been there' many more times than he.
- I look forward to the day that I can sell the Pathfinder (even though I have had fun with it) and buy a used Discovery. I have wanted one for 10 years and the well-used ones are quite affordable.
- I'm a single Dad and my son is everything to me. He loves to go offroad in the Pathfinder and on the dirtbike. We are on a tight budget but still have our share of fun.
Look forward to some good conversation and hope to learn much.
