Recently I had a replacement auto box fitted to my 1999 series 2 disco TD5. 3 amigos are present but not my real worry. I had extra warning lights appear which were remedied by a new battery .now when I select reverse or sometimes park the clevis pin on the top of handbrake cable becomes very hot as in short circuit and with a bit of pressure on the down [off] position of handbrake sometimes cuts power to engine.I have stripped and cleaned the gear inhibitor switch there is no fault there no shorting wires over the top of the gearbox .Can any of you disco people shed any light on what may be the cause of my problem please .
