Hi,

Allow me to introduce myself. My name is Rich, but I go by several 'names'. I'm the second owner of my 1997 Land Rover Defender 90 Station Wagon, North American Specification in Arles Blue. She was christened the Blue Beasty, by my (now) ex wife (then girlfriend) on day one. The name stuck better than the marriage . That was in 2011. She was my daily driver and even endured a relocation to upstate New York for about a year before returning to the Madison Wisconsin area, where in 2014, after a fewer smaller projects, thanks to a failed radiator her first "DIY amateur, limited functional restoration took place over the course of a year or so. I did a few upgrades and repaired a few things with a focus on functionality. I don't much care about cosmetics (form follows function) or creature comforts, although I did rebuild the heater box and core and added some sound deadening (not enough) Considering how rusty she was when I got her, it's amazing she hasn't deteriorated more. I stabilized her, but I knew the day I bought her she already needed a new chassis. I also knew the one she had was still plenty capable. I'm pleased as punch I got the first fifteen years out of it with zero operational issues due the rust. It's just ugly and makes things difficult. But it has ZERO impact on its prime role. Around 2018 or so she was left alone after she started running very poorly. Her priority didn't allow me to begin to work on her until just a few weeks ago when I decided to poke around. Once I decided to purchase a new battery, I was tentatively committed to what is coming. Now, I'm fully committed to a second "DIY functional restoration" and I am trying to document it in my own style which is inspired by "Vice Grip Garage".

I BELIEVE the Blue Beasty is personally "The Best 4x4xFar". I'll defend her honor and wouldn't trade her, even in her poor current condition, for ANYTHING (I may think again for a nextgen Cybertruck delivered by Elon himself).

I've been trying to gain subscribers on YouTube because I want to do "LIVE" shows. I currently want to do a live unboxing of a bunch of stuff I have that's starting to stack up, but I am not allowed by YouTube until I have more subs. So.....here is my request to you. Please watch this video. Think, inside your own head, what you think and how you feel about what you've seen, then tell me. Please be honest, yet as nice as possible. Some folks take a earnest dislike to me, and it happens enough that I realize it MAY be me, and I'm okay with that. I wholeheartedly apologize, in advance, for any unintentional insult or offense. It's another story if it was intentional though. Although in that case, I'm not subtle; You'll know it's intentional Either tell me here, or in a comment on YouTube. Publicly or privately. But please let me know what you think, even if you hate it, or hate me. I NEED feedback. I want to EARN viewer/subscriber/possible sponsors. I am not skilled, or talented, at self, (or any type of) promotion, but that is what I am trying to do.now. I am simply trying to learn. I'm basically a loner, but I find i enjoy talking to the camera (viewer, friend,...) while I do this stuff, so I am trying to see if I can use that to better my situation.

Anyway , although it is one of the very first videos I made while actually working on it.. I think it's the only one I've posted so fat that show her almost fully dressed. Only her top is askew.

I REALLY want to open all me boxes that are piling up LIVE. I don't really care if there are any viewers.
