Question I've Inherited a stock 2001 disco, what next?

Ill get straight to the point...now that i have a stock 2001 LRDiscovery, what should be my first modification to ensure safety and excitement without the drudgery of getting stuck or losing my way? should i go with great all terrain tires (which im leaning towards and logically make the most sense) or new lights, etc. I'm a newbie for sure, and proud of it, but only because i have a desire to make my LR bigger and better. A little help please...suggestions, constructive criticism are welcome. i seek guidance from those more experienced than I.

Tires will make the biggest difference as far as performance off-road. Of course make sure you conduct the proper tune-ups(dependent on mileage) since you are not the original owner. Oh...and post this in the "Discovery" thread if you want any responses. Good luck
