Default Jeep guy gone Rover

well i still am a Jeep guy, i have a 1998 cherokee thats kinda my trail rig, and i just purchased a 2000 Discovery. so far i love it, except for a few minor problems (rear suspension, rear passenger door locks).. but those can be fixed in time. anyway i've just been looking around for a sight where people are cool and don't mind helping out a new guy for a little bit (at least until i learn a little bit more about this dang thing) so please have some patience with me... don't worry though i'm a fast learner

Dave,
Welcome to the group.
So what sort of problems are you having with the rear locks and the rear suspension, let us help you.
You were lucky in buying a 2000, you still have the old t/case that can be locked up, with a few modifications, which will give you alot more traction, we refer to it as a CDL unit.
Stay in touch,
Mike

well the problem with the rear locks is that they won't lock when i use the key in the D/S front door (or the keyfob for that matter), the only ones that lock are the two fronts and the rear door. and if i lock them myself the only to get them open is to climb in the back and pull the handle from the inside. sound common??

in fact another problem i'm having with the locking system IS the key fob, it will set the alarm but won't lock the doors or unlock the doors...

blah...

Disco... I am a brand new memeber (registered tonight... yeah) as well as a Jeep owner (2000 TJ, lifted etc..) My wife and I just bought a used LR Disco II. I love it! Today, the Pass/Front Door lock stopped working with the FOB/Master Power Switch (works when you pull the door handle). I would like to hear from someone who can point us in the right direction.

It is nice to meet everyone!

Cool, you are about where I am thinking of going. I would love to hear how the Disco performs also compared to the Jeep. I have a Wrangler and dont hit it hard but I am a Land Planner and work with developers so I am always going to sites that have the only access is a old hunting or 4wd path.
