Default Just looking for a bit of insight on a 03 Disco 2

Hey, new to the Land Rover brand. I haven’t actually bought the vehicle yet but I’m trying to figure out if there are any warning signs here. So I’m looking at a 03 discovery 2 se. It has 90k miles on it. Owner says it’s clean and runs great but it has a few sensor issue and he says that the trans light is on but the trams isn’t over heating or leaking. And the check engine light comes on from time to time but that he just turns off the car locks it, then unlocks it and turns the car on and it’s gone. I really like land rovers and especially this body style. But I don’t want my first impressions on the brand to be a huge lemon. The seller is asking $10k. The interior looks decent other than the leather wraps around the e brake and 4 wheel drive grip have worn down (not a big deal as that can be replaced and doesn’t affect the function) what do y’all think and please give me things to look for during the test drive that can help me assess the vehicle. Thank you for your time.

Personally I think $10,000 is at least double what a vehicle with the issues you mention is worth. He hasn’t been able to figure out what’s wrong but wants to pass it off on someone else, as seemingly inconsequential issues.
Keep looking and be patient.

That's low mileage with unknowns.
Any service records at all?
Any rust on undercarriage or on inside door areas?
Any known repairs?

Do you have a code reader?

Well luckily I don’t have to worry about it. He sold it before I could get back to town. I’ll keep looking. I live in Hendersonville, TN, about 30 minutes north of Nashville. That was the only one I could find for sale in my area. I’ll just have to be patient and keep looking. If anyone here knows of someone in my area selling an 03 Discovery 2 SE let me know! Thank you for your input and time.

It was your lucky day and someone elses...not so much.

Keep your eye on the market place here and you will most likely find a better Dll.

Welcome to the board.
