Default Land Rover Guy

Im not exactly a new guy. Maybe to this forum but only because I couldn't find my old ID or login. I currently have a Defender 90 with a 200tdi that I build -every nut and bolt to include replacing a piston and installing a variable geometry turbo and fueling upgrade. I have had 4 DIIs. A 1999, and 3, 03s. I currently still own a 03' HSE7 with the bad engine vin range, which is what brought me back. Cheers.

Welcome back. I think the current thinking on the bad engine vin range is that all the bad engines have long since been made into beer cans. So if your engine has gone this long you probably shouldn’t worry about it.

I bought this thing parked. The engine is bad. The rod bearings sounded like jingle bells on the crank. I replace the engine already. Now I'm trying to figure out my installation error(s) with the new oil pump/oil pan.
