When we got married 3 yrs ago, I promised my new husband if he would pay for the wedding (I was in grad school at the time), I would buy him a Land Rover.... promise fulfilled!!

Okay, granted it's not a new one, but it's a start. We're picking it up tonight, a 2003 Discovery II S, 102K miles. If it wasn't for this amazing and detailed info on this forum, I don't think we would have had the courage to get one, with all the "unreliability" reps these cars have.

We're moving from NYC to Washington, and really looking forward to putting her off-roading capabilities to the test... if she can make it there!

We already promised to purchase her before finding out about the 2003's issues (oil pump thing) but hopefully we'll just keep our eyes open, keep her well maintained, and beg for help from y'all whenever something comes up.
