Default Michigander who just got 2001 D2

Well I jumped in and got a Discovery 2 which I've wanted for years. Decent condition but has a few things to work on (seems most LR do lol). Love reading all of your threads and all the information already!

Thank you to everyone who has put so much time into the site!

Jon

Welcome to the board. Check out our Michigan Land Rover Owner Group on facebook. Where are you located and what are your plans for your rover, trail/camping machine or daily driver?

Brian.

Welcome Jon!

I just picked up a 2004 Discovery II a few months ago. It was a stock SE that I use as a daily driver. I've put some 32" A/T tires on it though and am planning on some add'l upgrades (roof rack, lighting, bumpers) to be able to take it on the trails on weekends. Right now i'm working on rotating the spare tire carrier so it will accommodate the larger tire.

If you're in the Detroit Metro area and need a shop, I've tried a few mechanics in the Royal Oak area and I think settled on my favorite if you need a recommendation. They seem to be pretty familiar with the many LR idiosyncrasies (but of course were also the most expensive).

Joel.

I'm in southwest area mostly Saint Joseph and Buchanan (also Chicago). I need to do some head gaskets and will take a look at the drive shaft and then take a break on fixes and just enjoy. I got it with great tires and 3" lift, can't wait to test it out on some land I have.
