Default My 1st Discovery

Hi, I just picked up a 1996 discovery, and hope to find out all the things I don't know about them, and find answers as needed in the future! It has a 4.0 8cyl engine and 140K miles.
My first question is: Did they all come with key fobs? I don't have one. Should I get one?
Thanks!

my 97 Disco doesn't have key fob, and has the 4.0 motor. after about 1 1/2 months of tinkering, it is now running and back on the roads. I towed it home after buying it. I learned alot here! get the RAVE manuals that can be downloaded for free on here.

Thanks, I corrected a mistake I made in my original post... I have a 4.0 8 cyl engine as well.
I've tried downloading the RAVE manual, but having been able to open it. I have an apple computer, if that makes a difference.
I hope to leard a lot about these rigs. I really like mine so far. I've only driven it a little so far. All my windows and my sunroofs work, but not my clock, fog lights or cruise.
The previous owner added a secondary cooling fan on the radiator, and added a toggle switch for the air-conditioner. I haven't checked any of it out yet, but figure he must have by-passed the low pressure switch or something for the ac system.

Yup, mine had a 'Bad Fuel Pump' that turned out to be a burnt connector on the inertia switch. and then had a messed up brake light switch. Both easy repairs if you know what to look for.
The RAVE manuals are in a PDF format and you might have to get a newer version of PDF reader, I don't have a MAC so I can't help much on that.

Haven't tried the A/C as it is getting a bit cool around here, had to scrape snow off the windshield this morning.
