Smile New from the carribbean w/ 2000 Discovery II

Hey guys I'm new to the forum joined on sunday but only now took the time to make a post about being new. I'm from the Cayman Islands a small group of islands with the biggest only being 27 miles long and I'm glad to being going about in it with my '00 discovery II SD.

it's had it's problems back in the day one being it's severe leakage of coolant about 4 years ago but that's all fixed now. The security system seems more secure than most modern cars I've seen and I personally had to experience it once after not driving the car for months where the battery slowly died only to have the car lock up the transmission and the alarm going off for about 12 minutes(This is terrible as I live in an apartment district) till I could get the system reset and managed to get the car started. For now the 'three amigos' stay brightly lit up and an un-recognized temperature sign has appeared which is something I plan to look at soon

unfortunately the car as been in a minor accident rendering the vehicle immobilized not physically but by laws as the bumper is in bits as-well as a light laws and in my country license plates are needed in the rear and front.

I hope to enjoy as much as I can on this forum and absorb as much information as I can. thanks for having me hair

welcome.
that temp light look like a mercury thermometer with squiggly lines? that light is linked to your transmission cooler and transfer case. both of the senders are easily accessible and have been known to fail. the one on my cooler did. or low fluid. easy test to eliminated one of the 2 sensors is to crawl under and pull the leads of the transfer case when light is on. (left side of case, can't miss it) if that was the issue the light will go out, if it is tranny it will stay lit. fluid check would be a wise first.
