Thumbs up New D1 Owner

Hey everybody. I just purchased a 1998 D1 (50th anniversary edition?) and I'm absolutely in love with it. Parents had a D1, RRC, P38, and D2 when I was younger and always thought the Discoveries were the coolest trucks on the road.

My new-to-me Disco is in pretty decent shape, has some after-market stuff already, but I plan on doing a lot more and I'm sure I'm going to be spending a lot of time here reading and asking questions.

Anyone else near Durham, NC?

Thanks! White, with black on the hood. The clear coat is roasted on the roof and around the window to mid-door level, but I plan to have it redone in warmer weather. Thinking white bed-liner for the actual roof itself for extra protection. Thankfully, the truck is super rust free.

Yours is incredibly clean looking!

The horizontal body panels on these didn't hold up at all. Terrible paint i guess. If you haven't already, don't attempt to open the sunroofs. Keep them closed and sealed. They have major problems and many times than not once they are open they won't close back or they won't seal properly and then you have major water issues.

Mine was a one owner California truck driven by an older lady who had the money to service it and kept it clean. Lucky find for me back when I got it.

I have been a Landrover owner for many years having had the original diesel Range Rover in the 1990 and 7 other RRover models since I am driving a 2014 vogue 4.2 diesel at the moment . I use the cars for my Job so it is not an urban tractor !
