New to Disco
Hi all,
Just wanted to join the conversation. I just purchased my first Land Rover. I have been looking for the last 6 months for the right vehicle. Up in Alaska, things are a little tougher. Less people = less selection. I was about to sign paperwork on a Discovery in Seattle and figure out how the heck to get it here when my wife found a 2001 Discovery II SE with 39K in the next town over.
Well, we didn't hesitate. It is absolutely pristine and in perfect original condition. Okay, it does have some mud on it now after driving the trail out to Jim Creek. I am looking forward to adding some goodies as we go along. I will also be taking some photos of the Alaska adventures to share with you all.
A little about myself: moved up to the other Great White North back in February. My wife wanted to be a little closer to her folks (especially mom) for the birth of our first child. We are on baby watch as I type this. The big day is about two weeks off now. I am a papershuffler by trade but big fan of the outdoors by birth.
And I am certainly looking forward to seeing what the Discovery can do in the Alaska bush. Judging by the looks I was getting on the trail to the creek this weekend, most of these good ol' boys are a little surprised to see a Land Rover in its native habitat.
