Default New Disco Owner by Luck

Hi all,

My girlfriend and I went to an auction just to see how things worked and maybe bid on some things if there was a deal to sell them for a profit. Turned out it was just us and one other guy and we got a 99 Disco in excellent condition for steal. To be honest I was never a huge fan of Land Rover, but that was my own fault of prejudging them, and now that I've been driving one we've gone from flipping it for a profit to keeping it for a daily driver/tow rig for my CJ. I've been getting flack from the CJ forum for using a Disco to tow it, but I sure as hell don't want to drive a CJ a couple hundred miles to Moad when I could get there in style and comfort. So go ahead and let me have it.

Seriously this is the shirt that I wore to work last night. http://www.roverparts.com/Parts/2993.cfm
Grew up in CJ's, then I got my LR. Goes anywhere I would take a Jeep and does it as well or better.

I was very surprised and impressed how well the Disco did off road, but I've never been off road in one before so that was my fault for judging it first. I was so impressed I decided to take it down a mountain trail I enjoy taking CJ down but there's two spots that are pretty gnarly, and the Disco kept getting hung up so it convinced me even further to keep it as a driveway queen. It's just too nice to take down the small mountain trails here and scratch the hell out of it when I have a CJ I use as a toy.

The deal was 2k for it.

It has 116k on it, and the nice thing is the paint is perfect and body are perfect, interior is spotless, rides quiet and solid, and minus a missing cd changer the sound system is great. I've never heard a Harmon Kardon in a car before but it really impresses me.

Welcome to the forum. Very nice looking ride. Check out the Discovery section for tons of information about your Disco.

Thanks guys. I've found some good info in the Disco section and I'm looking forward to getting the parts and do the 60K mi service, and not too sure if that includes the timing chain or belt but I'm doing that as well since it's getting up there in miles.
