Hello to all who care to read this... I recently bought a 2000 LR Discovery II on eBay (6 weeks ago) and so far I like the truck... its just shy of 150,000 miles, clean car-fax. I haven't had the need to fix anything, other than a light bulb in the heater controls. In the last 3-4 weeks, I have been buying a few random things for it, cargo landscape liner, cargo cover shade, headliner, dash trim kit, roof rack rail extensions, and rear wiper arm & blade. So far I have only invested about $3,500 in the truck purchase and these parts. By the end of April I plan on putting new tires on it. The previous owner had the brakes replaced, front wiper blades, engine oil, trans oil, ps fluid, and coolant replaced just before the sale. The truck doesn't leak anything, drives strong, shifts smooth, and by estimates, I am getting around 15 MPG. My question is since this is my first LR, is there anything that I should expect to be a problem when troubleshooting, repairing, or just using this vehicle?

Welcome to our world. Read the "sticky" about maintenance. It is better to be proactive than be surprised. I would inspect the front Prop-shaft and see if it has been updated, look for grease fittings on each of the 3 U-joints. It sounds like you found a well-cared for truck.

Thanks, I'll be checking out a lot of things either when the weather warms up, or when my father inlaw says I can get sometime on the lifts at his shop... It will probably be later this month at the same time we put the tires on
