Default New guy from near Madison WI Needs Repair shop.

Wife has a 2009 LR2 that she LOVES. Me not so much but it is hers. I have my own affair going with my 2015 Ford F-350 Powerstroke diesel.

So for the LR2 we bought new. We had several things go wrong early. By 20k we had the AC replaced, rear differential "fixed" and then entire axle had to be replaced 2 months later but that was all covered under warranty at the stealership.

We have been taking it to a local guy (Westside Auto) for all maintenance. He was great and redid the brakes for us and found a noise in the front to be the sway bar links were gone. Yep sway bar was there but the links were missing.

So now he tells me that he doesn't work on Land Rover anymore because "the fees for the software are too high". Guess LR charges an annual fee to get there updated software to fix these things. He doesn't see enough of them to make it worth it so he no longer works on them.

I do NOT want to go back to the dealer. Every time since purchase we have been in there they have been very rude or just didn't seem to care about us. Does anybody out there know a shop near Madison WI (West side of town preferred)?

If it were up to me I would sell it but as I mentioned my wife loves the thing. And happy wife......

I don't think there are any independent shops near Madison that have the software to do anything computer related. Which also makes any shop not wanna work on any make they don't have the software for. Even if it's not needed.

Ended up going to Das Mechanic in Sun Prairie WI. German guy that only works on foreign cars. He did a great job and I would recommend him to any in southern WI.
