Default New to Land Rovers, 4x4's but not to Cars

So I just picked up a 2003 Disco 2, 136k on her.

Here's the story:

Was looking for winter beaters, mostly Subaru's because I didn't want to drive Britta (my '98 M3) through the winter when my Dad instilled the thought that I should buy a Land Rover. Initially I didn't like the idea because who wants to pay for parts for their winter beater. I looked anyways and came across an 03 for 2400. I completely low-balled the guy at 1850. He accepted but warned me it needed some love. He wouldnt tell me what sensors were bad. I drove 3 hours to check it out and it seemed fixable. I found a few receipts from the dealer in the dash, I found the important one saying the headgasket was replaced 30k ago at 96k. That was pretty comforting so I bit the bullet and drove her home. On the way home the CEL came on for 02 sensors, misfires, and SAI. If thats all this thing needs than Ill be more than happy! So far I've only changed the oil and ran some generic sludge remover (the dipstick was covered in it when I bought it, now its gold like its supposed to be). Ill try the filter thing for SAI, hopefully that will fix it. If not Ive got some work ahead of me. I am excited to join the community and explore the life off road. Thus far ive only done autox and trackdays in the M3. Sorry if this is really choppy wrote it up real quick before heading out!

Cheers.

Very similar story to me! I just picked up an 07 LR3 as a winter car, so that my 01 M3 can stay warm and cozy for the winters.

Any pics of the E36?
