My wife has loved the LR3s since they first came out, often calling it her dream car. With a new (third) addition to the family, I finally folded on my no-SUV stance figuring it was better than a minivan.

Besides, how do you say no to a pregnant woman wanting her dream ride?

I'm digging the LR3 so far. We picked it up last week direct from the first owner who was not happy with the trade in offered. It has 98K on it and every records since new. The owner was an engineer with no kids and no pets so it's a very clean example.

I did take it to get checked out after we bought it and the following issues came up;

- Lower control arms have play
- Power steering rack has a slow leak
- Oil o-ring weeping
- Rear brakes almost gone

I opted to have the control arms, oil leak fixed and power steering fluid flushed to try and preserve the life of the rack.

The former owner did not provide documentation for diff fluid changes so that as well as the rear brakes are on my driveway punch list.

I'm also on the lookout for a good set of all-weather floor mats.

On to the pics.
