Hey All--I finally took the plunge and got a 2003 Discovery SE (ok, my wife made me). Very nice condition, just had the engine done, 83k total miles. I will go over it and update what I can. The drive shaft sounds like a good place to start.
Does anyone have the serial numbers for the engine problems on the '03? I'm not too worried, but would like to know.

Just starting the odyssey now. Hints are appreciated.

Thanks, Stude Lover

Welcome here. Your wife has good taste. You should post your questions in the Disco 2 section of this forum.
As for bad engines, I think the general consensus is that all the bad ones are long gone.
