So, I've always been a gearhead, and my buddy is big time into Rovers. He had Defender 90s and a 130, a bunch of D1s, a Range Rover Classic and a couple of D2s. I tricked him into military vehicles and he tricked me into a D1. This is my '98 D1, which my stormwater company uses for various field work. We bought it stock, drove it for awhile until it needed head gaskets, and while doing head gaskets, we did a 2" Terrafirma lift, new brakes, extended stainless braided brake hoses, all new suspension bushings, heavy duty steering linkage, serviced all the gearboxes with new fluid and filters, roof rack, ladder, NATO wheels and tires, D2 cupholders, fixed up an old ARB bumper and installed a new Warn synthetic rope winch. I'm just about done putting it together.

I'd like to put together an album here on the site, but it keeps flaking out on me. When I try to save the changes, it gives me a 404 error. Is this something with the site, or something I'm doing wrong?

I also am really big into '60s cars. I have a '65 Mustang fastback, 289, 4speed. Dad has a Chevelle. I have an M35A2C.

Obviously I can turn wrenches, I've been doing restoration work for decades. But I do have a lot of Disco and Land Rover specific questions about this thing. I'm new to these, so I'm not up on what all is available for them and how best to deal with some of the problems they have as they approach 30. I'll post a couple of things below.













Here are a couple of things I've dealing with.

• Are new seat covers available? When I Google seat covers, all I get are slip-on covers, like protective ones. I'd like to be able to reupholster the front seats, as the leather is trashed.
• The face plate for the A/C controls is trashed. Some of the plastic material is gone and it no longer adheres to the front of the unit. Is there a solution for this?
• Is the only source for grilles the fiberglass ones? I'm surprised these aren't available, all of the ones I come across are just trashed.
• Is there no source for replacement instrument cluster covers? Mine is cracked, missing a tab on top, it's just a hot mess. (no picture)
• Same for the trim above the glovebox door? Any source for these?
