Hi all just joined after hearing about a post on the L3 rear differential rebuild and needed as much info as I could find.

I've had my 2005MY L3 since July '14. In that time I've done; 2 front hubs, new rotors and pads all round, rear ARB (needed to raise the rear body to do this), 2 lower and 2 upper rear wishbones, EPB been serviced, had the fuel tank off to repair the tank support, replaced the rear brake pipes, fitted a new rear prop-shaft, new A/C condenser and changed all oils and fluids. All-in-all it's been a busy few months and it's not over yet.

Just about to check the valve clearances as won't running on LPG which has been on the car for the last 10 years of its life. The suspicion that the valve seats need recut but?? Also getting ready to do both rear wheel bearings and rebuild the rear differential.

I am a newbie myself, but welcome to the forum! I must say, you seem to be ambitious when it comes to repairing your car, just the right kind of guy to drive a Land Rover!

Thank you guys, had a lot of practice on a TDI and a 4.0 V8 D2 that I owned (or maybe that should be, owned me) for 7 years before changing to the L3. Apart from the greater comfort there's not much change as far as having to carry out repairs is concerned. Perhaps by the end of the summer I'll be able to sit back and relax.......
