New Member: Discovery Fan
Hello Everyone!
I have looked at posts from the LR forums for years now and just signed up as a member today. I have two 98 Discovery 1s (50th Anniversary and Country) and currently reside in Japan. Owning a Discovery in Japan is a challenge and I do miss having a good group of people to help support Q&A as I did in the United States. I order most of my parts from the UK and the United States. Lately, it has been up to me to complete repairs/upgrades and some our testing my abilities. One mistake means ordering another part and waiting or even worse, making the problem worse with no one to help, haha.
I am hoping that there are still active Discovery 1 members. Honestly, even with all of the troubles with an aging vehicle, I am still drawn to the Discovery 1 models. I have owned 4 in total over the past 10 years. The two I have now are in great shape the only issue is they were left idle for so long by their original owners. My 50th Anniversary has less than 12,000 Kilo and my Country has less than 60,000 Kilo. My list of chores on each is long, but mostly because of the sun/age of the vehicles.
Looking forward to chatting and learning from other members. Take care!
Jonathan
