Default New Member from Florida - Professional Detailer here to give advice.

Hello, I just want to introduce myself.

My name is Benjamin and I am here to make connections, share advice and share in your experiences. I am a professional detailer and have been in the industry for 20+ years now.
I've worked on just about any car you can imagine from classics to modern exotics and have a lot of experience. I have also mentored other detailers and helped them to better succeed in their businesses.

I would like to offer myself as a source of advice when it comes to caring for your vehicle. If you have questions about how to clean or recondition any part of your vehicle I will take the time to answer your questions to the best of my ability.
I specialize in and have extensive knowledge in paint correction, ceramic coatings, paint protection film and window tint.
I have worked as a Ceramic Pro Certified Installer for over 5 years and due to the network of installers/detailers that I've accumulated over the years I have what seems like endless resources.

Please do not hesitate to reach out to me for help.
Although, I am not offering my services here, I am offering advice.
Thank you for accepting me to the forums!

Welcome to the forum. Are you at the Ceramic Pro on 17-92 by any chance? Was just in there last week getting a quote for the wife's Jeep.

Hi Stroh,

No, I'm not at that location but I am networked with shops like that here and all across the country. Personally I was installing coatings mobile in garages coming fully equipped with lights and everything needed. I'm not currently doing installs due to some health issues I am recovering from. So instead I am spending my time online just sharing info and such. Out of curiosity, which package are you considering? Perhaps I can give you some more information about the products and or the process.

@Stroh
Silver package is a great value, 2 layers for 5 years of protection. Also, if you're doing the seats you may want to consider doing the dash and door panels as well for the UV protection. And the textile (carpet) coating is excellent for mitigating staining.
If you need any info about what to expect please feel free to reach out. Wish you the best!

Ben

Have you considered having it repainted? That's an option. And if you shop around for a reputable shop with good reviews you'll likely get great results.
I've seen plenty of repainted vehicles that were done nicely when I worked Mecum auctions.

it was repainted they did a pretty mediocre job, paint is about 2.5 years old and is hammered on the hood and roof

@ArmyRover I'm sorry to hear that. Acrylic automotive paints have a 5 year half life, so you should expect oxidation within 5 years if the paint hasn't been cared for properly. However, seeing degradation in 2 years sounds to me like they used poor quality products.
