Hello there!

I do not have a Land Rover yet however I am planning on buying one in the near future. Please fill me in on which years and models you guys/gals prefer and why. I am in no rush since I have other daily drivers, I would like to make a good pick and hopefully under $10,000. This would be for 95% off road use but still street legal. I will be adding a lift kit and larger mud tires.

Right now my off road truck is a Chevy pickup and it just has too long of a wheel base and too bad of fuel milage.

The other reason I joined is to learn more about the 3.5-5.0 engines so I can add a section for them in the book I am writing.

I have 12 Buick 350 powered cars including a Twin Turbo 70 Skylark. This collection has turned into a hobby for me and has lead to me becoming an expert in Small block Buicks. A few years ago I started writing a book about Buick small blocks and this includes the Buick 215, 300 and 340 engines which the Rover engines are based on. This has lead me to add the Rover engines to my book.

SO.... If anyone has rebuilt, modified, dyno tested etc. one of these 3.5-5.0 engines please pass allong any info you may have!

 

BTW, I have ordered How to Power Tune Rover V8 Engines so that will help me learn about these engines I am sure... If this book is good I will refer readers to read it and just focus on filling in anything I feel still needs to be published to help people get the most out of these engines.

If anyone has read this book please tell me what you liked and what you felt was lacking.
