Default New member with LR4 ISSUE!

Hi everyone,

Great to meet you all and good to see so many people connecting

i have a LR4 16 plate that recently packed up on the motorway. Perfect service history though out of warranty. No issues to date.
Towed to marshalls of leicester - dealership
Marshalls tried to blame the fact the car had been over filled with Oil. We then found out after further inspection it was due to the crank shaft breaking. They have quoted me £25k to fix.

i have done my research here and seen that many of you have had this issue with this model in the past. Had anyone had any success getting this fixed with land rover/ them taking responsibility?
Marshalls have taken 7 weeks to get back to us ( our car sat on their forecourt), opened a case, asked numberous questions including requesting all the service history details. This lead us to believe there was some hope. However they have come back with no explanation as to why and said they wont stand by it.

I feel this should be a recall issue. i can see that this has been a common fault with this model. Can anyone shed any light on this situation or offer any advise?

Thanks so much

Simon
