Default New member - potential owner 01 Disco

Hello all.

Joined this forum to learn more about the Disco. I have an opportunity to purchase a 2001 Disco with 125k miles in what appears to be average to above average condition for $3000 (with brand new tires, alternator and battery).

Before I buy I wanted to prowl your forums to look for reasons to NOT buy the vehicle. I am an avid outdoorsman and currently own 2 Ford 4WD and a few 4-wheelers. I've never owned a Land rover and the only person I know that has one is my co-worker who is selling the vechicle I'm considering purchasing.

I am mechanically inclined and have recently installed a long block engine in my Ford p/u., so I'm not afraid to get grease under the nails.

Anyway, thanks for having this forum for me to poke around in. If all works out well I may become a new owner.

Any advice would be appreciated with regards to known quirks with this model year.

thanks

Default purchase

I bought my 01 disco with 15000 on it for $4500 so sounds like a good deal.Keep asking questions on the forum and you should get enough info to make a good decision on if you should purchase.Just remember once you go disco you never go back!

Asking questions is good, especially in the Disco section, not here in the introductry section.
Hope you land up with a new Rover, you'll like it.
