New here from Alabama, just picked up an 02 Discover II and looking forward to learning more about it and conversing with everyone.

Welcome! What part of Alabama?

Hopefully some others will chime in and give you your homework assignment.

It will consist of downloading the "Rave" checking drive shafts, plugging coolant leaks, unplugging radiators, swapping thermostats and generally making sure you don't get bored on weekends for a while. Lots of fun and a learning experience for sure. You came to the right place, if you need any help, just ask.

Thanks for the welcomes, this thing is definitely going to keep me busy. I've already started on it, changed the diff fluids, fixed a broken wire on an 02 sensor, this weekend will consist of plugs, wires, oil change and maybe a trans service. Really thinking about adding a seat switch activation kit. Got to track down whats making the whining noise under acceleration, any ideas?

"Really thinking about adding a seat switch activation kit." just go to a bone yard and grab the switches and faceplate.
Use a very good ignition wires 8mm or bettter the heat under the hood eats them up, and they are a pain to change.

If the whine is not better or gone after the fluid change, start a thread in the DII section.

Didn't make it to the fluid change, got the upper intake and dropped one of the alignment sleeves down the intake tube, so i spent the afternoon trying to get the intake off. So my first adventure is turning more than I bargained for. Good thing I work in a parts store. Also Shade I'm about an hour or so from ya in the Oxford area.

Keep me posted if the fluid change fixes the whine.
