New From Texas
Hello everyone. Just purchased a 2004 Discovery II SE with 120K. Your forum has already taught me a lot about the D2. Right now I am in the process of changing all the fluids, plugs, wires and the serpentine belt to build some reliability into the vehicle. I hope to have this vehicle around for quite awhile. Thanks for all the great info.
Howdy from the Houston area! Welcome to the world of Land Rover owners! I'm also new to this site, but I must admit that the information I've gained from this site has been very helpful with maintaining my LR3. I entered into the Land Rover world knowing full well that it will take a lot of maintenance, but I must admit it is just cool to own one! Just curious... I couldn't help notice that you listed a 78 Z28 as one of your rides. Is it something that you drive, or just take to the track?

Hi Texmbr! I was just in SA this week. I travel there quite often. Funny thing is now I see more Land Rovers on the freeways than I remember in the past! I guess they catch my eye because I want to see if there are any modifications that I might want to do... Just a couple of weeks ago I took the family to the Panhandle to visit my aunt. While we were there we took the LR3 to Buffalo Springs Lake and hit a few trails. It handled incredibly well! I'm impressed on how easy it is to handle!
HemiCrew, keep moving forward on the Z! I went into the Land Rover knowing full-well that I'll be turning my own wrenches on it. I've already had to replace two door latches as there is a plastic lever in them that tends to break and keeps the door from locking. I used roverlandparts.com for the replacements and they were great - one of the latch assemblies they sent was broken and they replaced it immediately.
I've always been a fan of the 2nd gen F-body. Keep the faith! As far as the heater core goes, I had one many years ago that went bad and would fill the passenger floor with coolant. I just remember thinking that GM built the entire car around the heater core as it was a pain to replace!
