I'm a newbie to rovers, but not new to 4 wheeling. I have a 2019 Ford Ranger that's built for overlanding (but also use as a DD), but the time has come to build something into a more dedicated 4 wheeler. I'll be getting a '98 Disco 1 from a friend sans engine and transmission (picture attached).
The current plan is to swap in a Ford 302 (or 331/347), NV4500 transmission and keep the venerable LT230. Upgrade the axle shafts, go up on the suspension and stuff some 35's in there. Can't wait to get started and learn from you all as I figure it out!
