Newbie in NorCal
Greetings! I recently picked up a 2008 LR3 SE with 68kmi. It was an interesting find, with a clean CarFax and maintenance records at the local LR dealer going back to 11kmi. I would say that a little old lady owned it (which is what the maintenance manager said), but you wouldn't believe me anyway! That said, it clearly has never been off road. I don't even think that the passenger seats were ever sat in, let alone the third row.
The LR3 is the SE package with just about all the options: Navigation, voice-activated trip computer, Bluetooth, parking sensors, cold weather package, fridge.
Pros: really nice ride so far, smooth acceleration (though not a rocket ship), and excellent visibility
Cons: gas mileage, squeaky plastics (why the cheap plastic door handles?!?), bug magnet (I have never had a vehicle get collect so many bug splats). And, worst of all, it has buzzy speakers on the passenger side. Ugh
Overall I am happy with the truck so far. I am tearing into the speaker issue right now and trying to troubleshoot the noise to either the AMP or the speakers. I have read a few posts related to issues with the sound system and how insanely complex the system can be. Doesn't look like a simple task to swap out the head unit!
Anyway, between the LR3 and my '97 FZJ80, my project meter is pegged. I will shout out to anyone in the 916 area code!!!
Thx-
CJ
