Default Range Rover P38 2.5 DSE (BMW)

Hello Everyone
I recently became the proud owner of 1998 RR in excellent condition. First time with a Diesel! When cold, the engine starts perfectly on turn of key after preheat lights go out. Unfortunately, it is more reluctant to start when hot. Engine will crank for 8 to 10 revolutions before firing. Local LR Dealer tells me this is NORMAL. This surely is not the case, especially with a BMW Engine. Can anyone help please?

if they say its normal it probably is. maybe its a diesel thing. gasoline and diesels have completly different ignition systems. if you are that dissatisfied maybe you should try taking it to a BMW mechanic.
