Default saying hi from LA

Hey all, I'm in Los Angeles, never owned a Land Rover, but have been shopping around for a project truck. If anyone has a Discovery or Range Rover project at $1k or less in the SoCal area, please let me know. I'm a mechanic in my spare time and have been for many years. My first car was a 1972 International Harvester Scout II and I guess you could say I miss having a 4x4! Thanks!

Welcome here. Good luck on your search for a LR. My second vehicle was a ‘73 Scout. It was one of my favourite vehicles I’ve had.

Thanks! Yeah, I love those things. Mine had the 345 V8 and there was probably more rust than there was truck, but they're so much fun. Hoping I quirky old LR would scratch a similar itch but with something a bit more usable when I'm done with it.

The Scout bodies were horrible for rust. LR’s are much better. I know the D2 rear sections of the frame can rust. P38 RR’s really don’t rust unless they live on the beach.
