struggling to set up garage with 2010 range sport SC

Hey just picked up the 2010 RRS s/c and i followed the instructions in the book and it wouldnt work

try pressing the "learn" button on your garage opener (the unit on the roof of the garage, not the remote) and then run a press the garage button in the car until the garage opener light blinks and release.

I had the exact same issue when I had to set up the garage remote and the almighty "learn" button does it every time
