Default Homelink garage door transmitter will not learn garage door remote

All,
Currently in an apartment which I guess is 5 years old or newer.

2001 Discovery.
Tried to get the homelink to sync with the garage door remote.

Held down two outer buttons on the Homelink for about a minute until blink
as manual said.

then as the manual says - held the garage remote button down and the first button on the homelink transmitter on the Discovery II for Homelink to learn the remote.

Seems it is supposed to blink slower then faster.

My homelink never got to the faster part.

Any ideas>

Needless to say, I can't open the garage door with the 2001 Discover Homelink.

That's too bad.
It is a nice feature.

Yikes..
I think that the Quatum garage opener uses a different frequency than my 2001 year Homelink

Sometimes the setting in the door opener has to be changed, some have extra security built in that can be shut off. . Some have a button in the Garage Door opener that must be depressed before it can link up. Read the Garage door opener manual that may help.

My Homelink is set up for my garage plus my mother-in-law's. Mine was simple. My mother-in-law's took some extra or different steps. Don't remember for sure, it's been 3-4 years. Check the instructions for the opener too. You ought to be able to find them online.

Haha,
Good luck with the move.
We are also moving in a week.

New house may or may not have a
compatible garage opener.

I have read you can get a receiver and put it in line with the garage door open / close button
and then sync to that receiver and to a remote that comes with the receiver.

Or, put a new homelink in the rover.

I guess a homelink is just a transmitter like a garage door remote built into the rover anyway.

Just fumbled through your instructions on my 2004 Discovery. I held the two outside buttons and waited for the fast blink. I then kept holding #1 and pressed the "working" remote and Viola, (who ever she is) it's a miracle!

Haha, I read this as "Insulting a garage door" and was thinking the OP had anger management issues!
