2014 New Model jeep relase
There is truth to this. Rumors of the return of Jeeps only 7 seater legend: The Wagoneer. Also the Jeep Pickup. I would like to see how they turn out cause I do maintain respect for those models. The Jeep Liberty is being discontinued and succeeded by the reborn Jeep Cherokee, which so far is a joke. But let me remind folks here that LR is rumored to be bringing the "New Defender - A New Defender" to US market. Plus lets not forget the 2014 "Discovery 4". Theres also been reports that the Freelander will merge with Discovery to become the Mini Discovery (A whole new model) which will succeed the Freelander/LR2 - this will be "Big Disco's" little brother. Competition? Im not worried about it
Land Rover has ALWAYS been several steeps ahead of Jeep. LR is already test electric Rovers to so we will see what happens.

I'm betting that DC100 thing will make it here as something, probably not a "Defender"...It certainly would appeal to the Jeep or FJ crowd......
I hope someone at Rover sees the niche for a utilitarian vehicle, one that doesnt have every electronic gizmo ever thought of on it !!

Since I am the only LR in a nearly all-Jeep 4x4 club in western Colorado I will post that interesting new Wrangler model to them. They will get a kick out of it. Actually it is a very ingenious vehicle. Kudos to whomever dreamed it up and made it. Unfortunately it is probably much closer to being a real production model than a new trail-oriented utilitarian Defender made and marketed for the USA will ever be. LR has chosen the glamour Rodeo Drive market and they ain't going back in my opinion.

This is true perhaps but keep in mind that Jeep is heading in the same direction. Be it at the pace of a snail. The current model wranglers have leather interior, cd changers, DVD systems in the dash, harddrives, bigger wheel options and the new grand cherokees and the Cherokee have air suspension and traction control. Might also add that the new models are less trail friendly then the classic styled jeeps. Seems to me that all auto manufacturers are leaning more towards creature comforts and glamure and less in ultilitarion. Just my opinion.
