2020 bronco

You can't please everyone. I was looking at some comments online and I saw a few that mentioned it's looks at being "too girly" or "not powerful looking". I guess they do not like the round headlights? I personally think that Ford did a good job of making it both masculine and in keeping with it's heritage design. I guess they wanted a jeep they could put one of those silly mad faced grills on?

I see it taking a chunk out of Jeep sales no doubt. I owned 3 Jeeps back in the 2004-2006 Days 04 WJ, 05 TJ Rubicon, and an 05 LJ Sport. I never had a lick of trouble out of the WJ with it's 4.7L V8 and it was truly a great SUV. The Wranglers were a totally different story vs say a D1/D90/RRC heck even a D2. I had to dump a lot of $$$$ into them just to upgrade the extremely cheap parts it rolled off the assembly line with. Once that was done they were capable off road, but they were not good on road by any means! 65MPH was about it to the floor, the floor would get hot enough to melt your teva sandals (went thru several pair lol), and both my 05/06 needed constant repairs to keep them on the road (brake calipers sticking due to being made out of plastic), and the 4spd Auto was awful! Lucky for me I never experienced any death wobble. I sold them and went back to older LR's and I've been extremely happy ever since with great highway manors, and off road capability.
Fast forward to 2020 and I saw a brand new Jeep Wrangler JLU going down the freeway with another Jeep behind him. As I was coming up on them we went over a pretty normal expansion joint on I-10 and the Jeep Wrangler in the front started shaking badly. I got over into the right hand lane (Jeeps were in the middle lane) and that dude was experiencing the death wobble in a very very very very bad way. It looked like the axle was going to rip off and leave the Jeep. The owner looked shocked and clueless as to what was happening. I saw pure panic in their face! They eventually slowed down and instantly the wobble was gone. Jeep's still have plenty of flaws and for what they're asking the only thing you're really getting = the rights to the Jeep name. They are extremely over priced and FIAT is making poor choices for them. I mean their latest Bronco attempt = a 450HP Jeep JLU??? It's basically a Jeep Trailhawk/Hellcat.. 450HP won't do you much good off road except when you don't want to tread lightly lol. Also can you imagine 450HP and still having death wobble issues????
If Ford learned anything from their partnership with LR back in 05 I hope they dumped it into the Ford Bronco. That will get them LR type off road capabilities with Jeep type open air experience, no doors, and 35inch tires right off the showroom floor for less $$$$$. I think Ford did a great job bringing the Bronco back. It'll all depend on how the aftermarket parts for Bronco's come along also. If they get the kind of following Jeeps have with aftermarket parts Jeep will be in some serious trouble! Chevy is probably in pure panic right now after they totally ruined the Blazer name with another worthless jelly bean looking crossover SUV...
