Sorry, I can't help you with the project (wrong side of the pond for both of us) but with the registration plate # 15 EK 07 it's almost certainly ex-military. An excellent project. I assume it's one of the LR's based upon the Series 2A forward control LR's circa 1963, is it possible to post a photo. IMO drop an e-mail to the LRO mag as they may well help or know who can and may find an interested party to assist. Good luck.

Yes it is one of those, not in that condition though unfortunately, it is in bits, my dad bought is as a shell in the mind set of renovating it but didn't get anywhere with it.
