Ok, but in reality it will be the 5th SUV I have owned. I mostly buy them (SUV's) for the room and the towing capacity. In other words, I buy a truck!! Cars are for driving people around, trucks are for hauling stuff, towing trailers, extra room for people, and having FUN!

Fundamentals of survival, never argue with women 'cos they ALWAYS think they know best and for a quiet life just smile and nod knowingly. My daughter is a lawyer who knows everything about everything (she thinks) and my sister was a teacher and another KNOW ALL. There's no rational arguing with them as it's a waste of time, effort and far too painful an exploit.

When I got married 37 years ago I was told some advice that has yet to fail me. The 2 most important words known to (married) men is " YES DEAR" it will get you out of 95% of any argument and helps get you out of the doghouse. Still working...

I mentioned this to a co-worker that was about to get married, I was with a group of married men and I said Here is something that will help you every day. the 2 most important words are... Every guy there said the exact same thing... Yes Dear... it was amazing. He told me the other day that it still works.. He is on his second child being born last week!

I wouldn't call my ex mil 110 a truck or an SUV. What it does get called is unsuitable for posting.

If 'yes dear' starts to wear a bit thin, try 'I understand'.

I STAND CORRECTED:
the emissions tag under the hood say DII passes light truck emission standards.
the emissions tag under the hood on a P-38 range rover say it passes emission for a medium duty truck.

I think we all learn sooner or later that domestic subservience is the better part of valour for a quieter life ....................... especially where hobbies or especially LR's are concerned

But what about the old standard" it is easier to ask for forgiveness than permission"

I usually opt for the 24 hour rule... If it is in the yard for 24 hours and she doesn't notice it, it's yours.

Here's my "Truck, Utility, General Service, 1/2 Ton, 4x4" (that's the designation given by the MoD and used by Land Rover).

It's lighter than the Disco and has essentially the same drive train as my '95, not counting the engine.

Land Rover called discoveries SUV's.

I usually just call it a car.
