Those damn cougars... i don't like the whole pay it forward thing either. I would decline it. lol Gas Station cappuccinos are better than Starbucks' any and every day of the week!! Throw some of those little creamer style cup espresso shots in there and off to the moon we go.... and no body is going to pay it forward, unless there's a cougar in there........

As far as homeless I don't give money but will give food, money can be spent on boos and drugs, Ford will likely get eaten

exactly why I have not put a water cooler in the shop.

too many dirty booger pickers fumbling around all the cups and stuff at the gas station, for me. I doubt starbucks is going to rid the world of e.coli , but at least I can't see from the drive thru window.

and I always thought cougars were night stalkers.........myth!

Keeps my immune system up to date, better than a flu shot . I gave up on using my own mug as it is too complicated to compute for the clerk. It's like trying to have a teenage girl successfully ring up your produce at the grocery store...

Oh I don't know dusty.. I would take it as a compliment. The woman in front of you probably thought you were cute.. how is she to know that you're married? It must be that devilish smile of yours and that Rover to match. Women dig Rovers.. and guys that drive them

Enjoy it.. really. I was at the stoplight last night and a Discovery was sitting in the left lane next to me and he didn't even look over. I was admiring his truck but he wasn't admiring mine.. it's funny how the world works. Some people do things for others because they admire them and want to make them smile, other people perform kind acts for their own gain, yet others are selfless and do it just because they can. I would presume you have had a mix of those that like to make you smile, some that want you to make them smile and maybe others that just think it's a nice thing to do.

now.. can I buy you a coffee? Granted it won't be at Starbucks but..

if only this were true.......I suppose I could just perceive as such and not sweat it, but this my reason for the conundrum. I will wave, smile, greet, hold doors, let you in traffic, fix your flat, give you a lift, etc. a smile......throw one my way and I will send it right back. it just seems so contrived to wait ahead, for my reaction, after buying me something...........hmmmm now I know how you ladies feel at the bar.
actually the lady with the phone number hand off was the only one that had transparent intentions. the waiting and starring makes me feel like I have a booger hanging, or something. then I feel like I am being put on the spot, as I am informed of the coffee gift and the purchaser is just ahead watching me. there has to be a more subtle way to say "hello". otherwise these ladies must be rolling in the dough.

I guess if I buy into your theory, I should get a "not for hire" sticker on the truck.
oh, that free coffee is a wonderful gesture , but let's not slouch.....a quad venti white chocolate mocha has your name on it....no strings attached, my treat.

I don't give tips or take grattys. If someone smiles or lears across at me at the stoplight I usually mouth "WTF are you staring at frog" or something similar. I always find if someone gives something like a freeby they usually want something in return. As for setting up the person behind for a freeby coffee it's not my bag. If I really fancied the person that much I would say so outright not with dodgy offerings. Gotta say I have an innate distrust of the public and people around me in most environments and would not want to be the fall guy for any male or female prankster. Free cappuccino, hmmm, no such thing as a 'free lunch' anyways you'll pay somehow. My usual reaction ................... a bland withering look

Nice. So you'd be one not to wave at fellow Rovers, huh?

No, there's no camaraderie in europe for car/truck drivers to acknowledge each other in like vehicles apart from older sports cars, MG, Jags etc owners and Smart cars (wifey has one ) Motorbikers in the UK nod to each other as they pass and also here they lower their right leg off the footpeg in acknowledgement. Otherwise there isn't any other fraternising amongst vehicle drivers. Sometimes other LR owners approach me and talk on the ferry or in the UK but often they are .............. eerrrr boring and very little practical knowledge but buckets full of boyish enthusiasm
